GCC 2012 eMaturity Report
Datamatix announces the launch of first ever “GCC eMaturity report” that assesses ICT development in the GCC region, featuring various factors of the GCC eGovernment and ICT infrastructure readiness in different fields of ICT and the challenges faced in implementing these initiatives, the report will be launched during the 18th GCC eGovernment and eServices Conference from 19th – 23rd of May, 2012 in Dubai, UAE, the largest in the region and one of the top eGov events in the world.
The report defines the eMaturity profiles of each GCC member and reveals the increasing number of governments in the GCC that have endeavoured to meet the needs of the citizens by providing more eServices and by creating a level of online dialogue that was not in place a few years ago.
In this competitive world, staying ahead and updated is very important and further, the GCC must be envisioned as the best information society and also emphasized that GCC countries must invest greatly in the future infrastructure of ICT so the true power of G2C applications and services can be unrestricted and available to the public.
It also underlines the concerns such as security and privacy, as well as lack of citizen awareness that still discourage potential users. It accentuates the studies that show that GCC eGovernments also lack the basic feedback system that is vital to garnering public opinion on eServices, initiatives and other government projects.
Datamatix concludes the report by making several practical suggestions for improving the availability of online government information and services.
Initiated by Datamatix, this report will provide statistics that show that GCC countries have maintained leadership in eGovernment readiness among other Pan Arab and North African countries that forge and establish strong relationships among global organizations.
